Cleveland-Cliffs increases sheet prices
On 17 January 2023, Cleveland-Cliffs announced it would be increasing spot market base prices on hot rolled steel to $800/short ton, effective immediately on all new orders, Kallanish learns.
This latest adjustment is an increase of $50/st.
The increase is a reaction to “the reduction of material available to be sold on a spot basis," which Cliffs says is due to increases in pricing and volume in its automotive steel business.
