China’s CITIC Pacific Special Steel has successfully produced continuous cast round billet in a diameter of 1,200mm, setting yet another new world record, Kallanish notes.

The semi-finished product was produced by the company’s subsidiary Jiangyin Xingcheng Special Steelworks. Previously, CITIC produced round billet of 800mm, 900mm and 1,000mm.

The product can be widely used in wind power, machinery, forging and other fields. However, CITIC has not unveiled the volume it can produce.
