CIS slab price descent stalls
Prices of slab from CIS suppliers have stopped falling, having consolidated at around $460/tonne fob Black Sea. This has been reflected in slightly higher offers this week.
A major Russian supplier's offer stands at around $465/t fob today, as compared to $460/t fob last week, according to market sources. Weak demand from Turkey and Europe prevails, but the former booked some slab last week at around $475/t cfr Turkey, netting back to $460/t fob.
