CIS pig iron prices continue to decline
Merchant pig iron demand remained subdued in all major buying regions in the past week, but some Russian tonnage appears to have been traded to China, Kallanish learns from market participants.
A sale of one, and possibly two, lots of Russian pig iron was being finalised at press time by a Russian mill with Chinese traders. The price of the deal was estimated at around $545-550/tonne cfr, with freight at $80/t.
