Chongqing plans more steel capacity cuts in 2017
China’s Chongqing plans to cut more steel capacity in 2017 apart from targeted induction furnace steel capacity (see Kallanish 18 April), according to the Chongqing Economics Time. In 2016 it cut 3.85 million tonnes/year of steel capacity, and its annual crude steel output dropped by -46.8% year-on-year based on National Bureau of Statistics data.
