Chonggang bags environmental subsidy from local government
China’s Chongqing Iron & Steel Group (Chonggang) has received a CNY 59 million ($8.85m) subsidy from the local government of Changshou district, where its steelworks is located, it said on 28 June.
The subsidy is for Chonggang's efforts to boost environmental protection and reduce pollution in 2016. Chonggang received over CNY 900m in government subsidies in 2015, its annual report shows, over half of which came from Changshou district government.
