Chinese steelmaker financial performances improve in Q1
Many Chinese steelmakers saw some recovery in the first quarter of 2016, according to their quarterly reports. Some of the larger mills made a profit in the period although others, both large and especially medium-sized, did not. These results reflect a level of differentiation in the steel sector which may imply that a structural change in the steel market is in progress, Kallanish notes.
