Chinese steelmakers remain profitable in third quarter
Chinese steelmakers continued to turn losses into gains in first three quarters of 2016 with 12 out of 14 published steelmakers’ performance estimation reports being profitable, according to Chinese Securities Journal. Most Chinese steelmakers can now expect to be profitable over 2016 and although spot prices are strong, margins will be pressured in the coming months, Kallanish notes.
