Chinese steel slips despite capacity assurances
Chinese steel futures slid on Tuesday as low inventories were no longer enough to overcome weak buying in the run up to the New Year holiday and falling iron ore prices. More noise came out of Beijing in support of restructuring and capacity reductions, but the true impact on the market remained unclear, Kallanish notes.
