Chinese steel output falls but demand steady

Chinese crude steel output declined -7.25% year-on-year to 121.07 million tonnes in January-February, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. Although apparent steel consumption is down, real demand is flat y-o-y, Kallanish calculates, and while steel inventory is increasing, there is some support for steel prices.
