Chinese steel output falls but not fast enough

China’s crude steel production rates barely declined at all in October, continuing to add pressure on steel prices. The latest data shows Chinese domestic demand essentially flat month-on-month but extending its year-on-year decline, Kallanish calculates. China produced 66.12 million tonnes of crude steel in October, level from September, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
