Chinese steel output and demand strengthens in March
China produced 70.65 million tonnes of crude steel in March, 2.9% more than a year earlier, according to the latest figures from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The figure implies apparent consumption was almost flat year-on-year in March, but still down -4.93% over the first quarter, Kallanish calculates.
