Chinese mills announce maintenance plans for April
Chinese mills are starting to conduct maintenance on production lines in response to falling spot steel prices in March, company announcements show. Shanghai HRC 5.5x1500mm warehouse prices have continued to fall to CNY 3,230-3,270/tonne ($468-474/t) on 7 April from around CNY 3,805/t at the start of the year. In recent weeks rebar prices too have started to drop, Kallanish notes.
