Chinese ferrous export growth seen unlikely despite warning
Chinese ferrous exports are unlikely to rise in the longer term. This is because new steelmaking capacity coming on line is designed for domestic consumption, while increased Chinese scrap generation will be used to meet the growing local demand. This was the opinion of most participants at Tuesday’s International Rebar Exporters and Producers Association (Irepas) meeting in Warsaw.
