Chinese apparent steel demand down 8.7% in September
China produced 66.12 million tonnes of crude steel in September, marking a -3% year-on-year fall, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. Combined with trade data the figure means Chinese apparent steel consumption was down significantly both from August and from a year earlier, Kallanish calculates.
