Chinese and Korean scrap imports increase
Chinese and South Korean scrap imports increased 7.5% and 5.7% respectively year-on-year in 2017, according to China’s Customs and the Korea Iron & Steel Association (Kosa). Although Chinese scrap imports and exports were a similar volume last year, imports were from only two main sources while exports went to a wider range of buyers, Kallanish notes.
