China's shipbuilding completions drop in April
China's shipbuilding completions kept up a fast pace in April despite slipping from the two year-peak in March.
According to the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI), shipbuilding completions in China reached 3.63 million deadweight tonnes in April only, down from the 4.94m dwt in March, or a 25.6% decline on-month. This extends January-April shipbuilding completions to 12.8m dwt, up 9.3% year-on-year.
