Chinese scrap turns down despite tight supply
China's scrap market turned from rising to falling last week as the rainy season affected scrap transportation and steel mill purchases.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,706/tonne ($372/t), including VAT. This is unchanged from Thursday and down CNY 23/t from a week before.
