China's scrap gains on tight supply
China's scrap market rose last week as steel prices recovered, and scrap supply was tight.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,731/tonne ($365/t), including VAT. This is CNY 13/t higher from Thursday and up CNY 50/t from a week before.
