Chinese scrap drops, despite steel market recovery
China's scrap market fell last week even as the steel market rebounded on the back of property stimulus.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,747/tonne ($380/t), including VAT. This is CNY 2/t lower from Thursday and down CNY 28/t from a week before.
