China steps up mislabelled steel elimination campaign

China has upgraded the status of its mislabelled steel capacity elimination campaign. It has done this by asking local divisions of the General Administration of Quality Supervision and the Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) to immeidately remove production licences from mislabelled steelmakers on 2 May. Over 2-25 May central government departments and their local equivalents are also conducting their first joint monitoring campaign on mislabelled steel capacity …
