China replaces Philippine ore with Indonesian ferronickel
China’s ferronickel imports from Indonesia in July were five times the level a year earlier at 74,493 tonnes as it slowly replaces ore imports with partially refined products. At the same time, nickel ore imports from the Philippines were down -35.9% year-on-year to 3.16 million tonnes, Kallanish notes.
