China increases scrap use, EU scrappies target India
China increased its scrap usage for crude steel production by a further 14.1% on-year in the first quarter to 45.6 million tonnes, underlining the country’s position as the world’s largest scrap user. So says the Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) in a note seen by Kallanish.
