Hebei province fines polluting steelmakers
Hebei province’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) revealed on the 23 May that it has imposed administrative penalties on 32 steel companies, with a total value of CNY 21.4 million ($3m). The government is showing its determination to control pollution with this move, Kallanish notes.
The illegal activities of the steelmakers were mainly focused on the improper operation of pollution prevention and control facilities during the production process.…
