China approves $42 billion infrastructure projects
China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has approved 12 infrastructure building projects worth CNY 280 billion ($41.927 billion) in the last two months, according to Shanghai Securities News. The trend suggests steel demand from infrastructure will continue to be boosted by Beijing but funding for projects is becoming increasingly difficult, Kallanish notes.
