Chelpipe foresees fourth-quarter recovery after shipment slump
Russian pipemaker Chelpipe expects the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic will continue to have a negative impact on the steel and pipe market until the end of 2020.
Its nine-month-through-September shipment volumes decreased by -34% on-year to 1.037 million tonnes, Kallanish notes. This was mainly due to the overall reduction in demand for long-diameter pipes (LDP) from the oil and gas sector and the pandemic impact in Q3.
