Chairman Xi visits Hebei, stresses steel capacity elimination
China’s Chairman Xi Jinping visited Hebei’s Zhangjiakou city on 24 January, stressing the importance of continuing overcapacity elimination in 2017. Zhangjiakou is very near to the capital city Beijing, and it aims to clear all steel capacity out of the city to improve air quality, Kallanish notes.
