Celsa plans to build new UK scrap site
Celsa, the Spanish-headquartered steelmaking group with operations in the UK, has submitted to local authorities plans to build a new shear processing plant near Rotherham, Kallanish learns from local sources.
The new plant should process and store up to 75,000 tonnes/year of ferrous scrap. The material will then be transported to the electric arc furnace-based steelmaking site of Celsa near Cardiff in Wales.
