thyssenkrupp launches Carbon2Chem gas-to-methanol project
thyssenkrupp has officially commenced production of the synthetic fuel methanol from steel mill gases. This began on Thursday in Duisburg, Germany.
It is the first time anywhere in the world that gases from steel production – including the CO₂ contained therein – are being converted into chemicals, the company claims.
