Canada, US surges boost Turkish July rebar exports
Turkish rebar exports rebounded in July, surging 47% on-year to 437,715 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. This was also up from 359,324t in June. The average price of exports was $562.4/tonne versus $443.7/t in July 2017.
Despite Section 232 tariffs, the US increased its intake of Turkish rebar by 51% to 51,453 tonnes, while sourcing by Canada surged 110% to 58,709t, making it Turkey’s second-larges…
