Brazil steel sector recovery continues in July
The Brazilian steel sector continues to recover from the Covid-19 crisis, with most production indicators improving in July, according to local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB).
Crude steel output in July was 2,592,000 tonnes, up 3.5% on-year and 21.1% higher over June. In January-July, however, crude steel production reached 17,072,000t, down -13.9% y-o-y.
