Brazil’s ferrous scrap exports recover in May
Brazil saw ferrous scrap exports rise in May after falling for four consecutive months. Shipments, however, were weaker year-on-year, Kallanish notes. Imports remained insignificant in the month.
According to the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic), scrap exports totalled 53,500 tonnes in May, an increase of 18,900t compared with April but 5.5% less y-o-y.
