Brazil’s CSP targets 90% capacity utilisation in 2017
Brazil’s Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecém (CSP) aims to produce 2.73 million tons of slabs this year, representing a capacity utilisation of over 90%, Kallanish understands from Korean Dongkuk Steel. The latter is part-owner of the EAF-based mill launched back in June.
Dongkuk Steel is expected to take delivery directly of 1.46mt of slabs produced at the Brazilian mill, to re-roll them on its Korean lines.
