Brazilian steel trade remains depressed in July
Brazilian steel imports and exports both decreased in July, Kallanish learns from data issued by local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB).
Steel imports fell by -27.7% year-on-year to 146,000 tonnes during the month. Flat steel arrivals totalled 99,000t, -14.3% lower y-o-y, while long steel imports were 21,000t, -57.2% down on-year. The total value of steel imports was -23.7% lower on-year at $168 million.
