Truckers' strike hits Brazilian distribution flats' sales
Flat steel sales by Brazilian distributors fell by almost -16% y-o-y in May to 203,000 tonnes. These were impacted by the difficulties brought about by the truckers' strike last month, Kallanish learns from data issued by the national distributors' association Inda.
Inda forecasts that the sales should recover significantly in June, by some 15% month-on-month, as the strike has been resolved and the market returned to normal operation.
