Brazilian authority fines Vale for contradictory Brumadinho data
Brazil’s Office of the Comptroller General (CGU) has confirmed its ruling on Vale’s fine of BRL 86.3 million ($17.4m) for not presenting reliable information to the country’s National Mining Agency (ANM) about the Brumadinho dam. This had led the control body to issue a positive Stability Condition Statement (DCE) for the structure, Kallanish notes.
