Brazil’s foreign steel trade declines in August
Brazilian steel imports and exports both decreased in August, Kallanish learns from data issued by local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB).
Steel imports fell by -48.4% year-on-year to 129,394 tonnes. Flat steel arrivals totalled 80,638t, -24.6% lower, while long steel imports were 24,935t, -40.1% down. The value of steel imports was -35% lower at $150.3 million.
