Brazil reduces steel exports, imports stay high
Brazil saw its steel exports fall in the seven months through July, Kallanish learns from data issued by local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB).
During January-July Brazil’s steel exports were 7.86 million tonnes, down -6% compared to the same period of 2017. Exports of semi-finished products, which represented 65.5% of total Brazilian seven-month shipments abroad, fell -6% y-o-y to 5.15mt.
