Brazil increases steel production/consumption year-to-date
Brazil grew both its steel production and apparent steel consumption in the first four month of 2018, Kallanish learns from data issued by the local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB).
During January-April, crude steel output reached 11.59 million tonnes. This represented an increase of 4.1% compared to the same period of 2017. In April alone, crude steel production totalled 2.94mt, or 1.9% more y-o-y.
