Brazil increases steel imports on-month in September
Brazilian steel imports rose on-month in September but remained well down on-year, show local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB) data. Exports continued to be weak.
Steel imports increased 8.9% over August to 142,192 tonnes but this was down -22.9% on-year, Kallanish notes.
