Bluescope’s New Zealand operations face strike

BlueScope’s New Zealand Steel and Pacific Steel will be hit by a strike on 19 September. The strike, like a similar dispute at the Port Kembla steelworks, is over worker pay now that the company has returned to bumper profits, Kallanish notes. 120 workers at Pacific Steel’s bar and rod mill will strike for 24 hours from 7am on Wednesday.
