BlueScope secures US scrap source with MetalX purchase
With its new electric arc furnace under construction in Ohio, BlueScope is moving to secure its scrap sourcing with the purchase of the ferrous recycling assets of MetalX.
The two companies have entered into a binding agreement in which BlueScope will pay $240 million for two MetalX facilities located in Indiana and Ohio. The deal is expected to close by the end of the year.
