Bluescope profits double in first half
Australia’s BlueScope has reported net profits of AUD 200.1 million ($142m) in the first half of its financial year 2016 (July-December 2015), up 116% on the same period a year earlier. The results may give some respite to the Port Kembla steelworks, which is making some progress towards breaking even and evading closure, Kallanish notes.
