BlueScope hikes earnings guidance despite North Start accident
Australia’s BlueScope has sharply increased its earnings guidance for the six months ending June 2016, the second half of its financial year. The increase comes despite the $5 million cost of an accident at its US operation North Star BlueScope, Kallanish notes.
BlueScope now says it expects earnings before tax and interest (ebit) to reach AUD 270m ($195m) in the six month period, up from a previous guidance given in February of AUD 209m. It says…
