BIR banks on stability in scrap prices at year-end
Despite the wild ups and downs of steel as well as scrap prices, there is no reason to assume that we will return to 2015 levels, according to Tom Bird, board member of the Ferrous Division of the Bureau of International Recycling (BIR).
Steel scrap offers a reliability of supply not always seen with Chinese billet, he states in an account of the year so far, and concludes that the last quarter of 2016 “should see a much healthier and stable market.”…
