BHP claims Vale liability in Samarco's UK lawsuit
BHP Group has requested that Brazilian miner Vale share liability if it loses a class action lawsuit in England over the Samarco dam disaster, Kallanish notes.
BHP, Samarco co-owner with Vale, received an estimated £5 billion ($6.09 billion) in claims from around 200,000 individuals, 25 Brazilian municipal governments, 530 businesses, a Catholic archdiocese and members of the Krenak indigenous community.
