Bhilai plant fire incident causes fatalities
A fire in a gas line has resulted in the deaths of several workers at a Steel Authority of India (SAIL) plant, Kallanish reports.
The incident at around 10.30am local time on 9 October occurred during scheduled maintenance in Coke Oven Battery Complex No II at the company’s Bhilai steel plant. So far nine workers are reported as having lost their lives with a further 14 undergoing medical treatment, SAIL says in a statement.
