BGH Edelstahl installs Active Power Feeder by Primetals
Speciality wire maker BGH Edelstahl has signed an agreement with Primetals Technologies to test the Active Power Feeder solution at its 50-tonne electric arc furnace in Siegen, Germany.
Active Power Feeder is proprietary to Primetals, which presents it as a key technology for electrified green steelmaking. It utilises a patented medium voltage modular multilevel converter (MMC) technology in a power control system developed by Primetals.
