Middle East except Iran first-quarter steel output grows

Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Qatar increased crude steel output on-year in March and in the first quarter. However, Iran saw a big production loss which dragged down overall Middle Eastern output, Kallanish notes from worldsteel data. Iran saw a significant decline in March output, by an estimated 27% on-year or 693,000 tonnes to 1.87 million tonnes.
