Bengang Plate posts five-fold profit increase
China-listed Bengang Steel Plates posted a 5.5-fold increase in net attributable profit last year at CNY 2.5 billion ($394 million), Kallanish notes.
In addition to benefitting from high prices, the company also saw rising output, contrary to the nationwide trend. Its crude steel output rose 1.24% year-on-year to 10.44 million tonnes, while production of hot rolled plate and cold rolled plate came to 13.22mt and 6.11mt, respectively, up 8.02% and 8.1%.
